Home made flat bread

A super easy, soft, light and fluffy flatbread recipe that is really simple and easy to make. We serve it at our restaurant as a snack with some delicious dips. On this website you will find some delicious dips too to go with your flatbread!


 

VEGAN FLATBREAD

Prep : 20 min Cook: 25-30 minutes Ready in: 1 hour Makes: 8 flatbreads


INGREDIENTS

  • 4 tablespoons yeast

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 cup warm water

  • 2 1/2 cup flour

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt


EQUIPMENT

  • 2 bowls

  • Baking pan

  • Whisk

  • Spatula

  • Measuring cups

  • Rolling pin


PREPARATION

There is no real preparation for this recipe. You just start and make the dough and bake your flatbreads!


METHOD

  • In a bowl: mix the sugar, yeast and warm water.

  • Whisk together and let stand apart for 10 minutes

  • Second bowl: mix the flour, the oil and salt.

  • After 10 minutes add the yeast mix to the dry ingredients.

  • Mix well and kneed until you have a nice dough.

  • Let it stand for 5 minutes

  • After 5 minutes: divide the dough in 8 balls of dough

  • Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough (use flour to prevent sticking) in nice flat breads

  • Heat a skillet on a medium high heat

  • Bake the flat breads for ca. 2 minutes (it starts to form air bubbles) and flip it over, bake the other side for 1 more minute
