January

Pineapple

You can buy pineapples in Thailand all year long, but it is in January that they are the most ripe, juicy and sweet.

Passionfruit

Passionfruit is considered one of the most useful Thai fruits. The jelly-like flesh is eaten with a spoon of the fruit cut in half. 

​

Tamarind

In January, you can also buy fresh tamarind - the most high-calorie Thai fruit

 

Rose apple

During the winter months, the peak of ripening roseapple also occurs

February

Jackfruit

At the end of winter in Thailand, watermelons, tangerines, passion fruits, bananas and tamarind are still sold, but fresh jackfruit are added to them.

Starfruit

Starfruit or Carambola is sold everywhere in February, although Thai people do not consider it a fruit worthy of special attention.

March

Mango

In March, the ripening season of Thai mango  begins. You will not find mango a lot in Paksong area, we do have some trees, but the area is too wet for this delicious fruit.

April

In April, the fruit season in Thailand is in full swing:ripe mangoes and watermelons, bananas, papaya and jackfruit, guava and starfruit

Salak

Salak is often called sour strawberry or snake fruit.

May

Mangosteen

For mangosteen, the season begins in May and lasts all summer.

 

Rambutan

Rambutan, known for its “hairy” peel and the characteristic aroma of roses and spices, is available from May to August.

​

Langsart

The delicious langsart fruit is available in May and June and can be found in bunches, like big yellow grapes.

June

Kumquat

With the onset of summer, Thailand begins the season of kumquat - a miniature citrus fruit that resembles an orange to taste.

​

Durian

Durian can be eaten this time of year. It is an acquired taste: you like it or you don't.  The fruit should be eaten right away after peeling and slicing.

July

Longan

This month in Thailand, durian, mangosteen, rambutan,  guava, bananas are actively ripening.

It is the high season for longan.

Dragonfruit

Another popular fruit in July, is a cactus fruit, known as dragonfruit or pitahaya.

It looks very exotic, but does not have a pronounced taste and aroma.

​

Custard apple

The custard apple, or noina, or paradise apple looks like a hard scaly ball. Inside it has a soft, creamy pulp and a lot of seeds, which are not recommended to be swallowed because of their toxicity.

August

It's time to buy and taste the fresh crop of dragonfruit, durian, mangosteen, longan, rambutan and passion fruit.

 

Watermelon

In August, it will not be difficult to find watermelons, guavas, papayas and bananas in Thai markets.

 

Pomelo

In addition, at the end of summer, Thais collect the first ripe pomelo fruit.

September

Thai mandarin

The fruits of Thai mandarin are harvested in September.

 

Sapodilla

Another fruit, of which the harvest season starts in September, is sapodilla.

October

At the height of the calendar autumn in Thailand, you will find longan, sapodilla, mandarins, guava, bananas, dragonfruit, watermelon, passionfruit, pomelo, and papaya

November

In November it is still the season of papaya, mandarin, dragonfruit, passionfruit, sapodilas, watermelon and longan.

 

Pineapples, starfruit and rose apples are also in season.

December

At the end of the year you will find pineapples, starfruit, sapodilla and tamarind.

​

Fruits like banana's, papaya and coconut will be found the whole year round.
